Information for Practitioners:
Masks are the current solution to the issue of head protection in HEMA. Masks should fit well around the face with the chin supported below and the forehead behind the upper liner. The face should not pass through the liner to approach the wire mesh. The head should not be able to turn freely within the mask; the mask should sit snugly enough to move with the head. We also recommend a gel cap liner to add more padding between the head and the mask liner. A personal mask should be the first purchase of the budding practitioner.
